Bulkhead Flat Car     Home Page  Freight Car Kits


The prototype for this kit is the "Trailer Train Bulkhead Car" described in the February 1984 Model Railroader. The Trailer Train designation is TTPX, class BSH 71A.

The Inside Length is 62' 0".

 

The basic flat car can be used without the end bulkheads to make a TTJX 68' Flat Car.                    

The Microscale decal suitable for both these cars is #48-142.

 

The underframe can be used to make a "Finger Rack" car for carrying reinforcing bars. This car is described in the January 1976 Model Railroader

 

The kit contains a laser cut 68' wood deck suitable for both the TTPX and TTJX cars. An etched metal deck as shown in the photos can also be supplied for $25 plus S&H.
